David had a personal relationship with God so he called on him and not the wise men or prophets.
“Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites”
2 Samuel 21:1
What Saul had done was affecting King David.
Relationships are a killer! If you don’t know how to handle them they can be very damaging. What kind of relationship do you have with those who are not of God? If you don’t handle the relationship correctly then you will be affected by a famine! Saul had a relationship with the Gibeonites and then went back on his word. When he wasn’t happy with then he just decided to have them put to death. How many of us have gone back on our word that we kept with our brethren? The person you betray can easily curse you and if it doesn’t affect you directly then it can affect your future generations. Be careful how you treat people!
“Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.”
Genesis 16:1-2
Abram didn’t consult God about what his wife told him to do. The maid servant was also an Egyptian and not a child of God. Through a relationship your desire can come to pass but as it did with Sarai, you can then despise your situation.
“And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.”
Genesis 16:4
What are you doing to cause the delay of your blessing? Abram had Ishmael! He had to wait for this child to turn 14 years old before God would finally grant him his promise. Wait on the Lord, don’t delay your blessing! If there is a promise from God then it will come to pass.
How do we know that that Adam loved Eve? The Lord didn’t give him the woman first he gave him the animals!
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.”
Genesis 2:18-19
There is an appointed time for your appointed one!
Biology tells us that women have an extra rib on one side of the rib cage. Women, you are biologically carrying the extra rib of there appointed! Men, you need to get that rib back!
Adam loved the ‘gift’ that God had given him, he didn’t know Eve to truly love her. When God asked him why did you ate from the tree, his response was….
“And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.”
Genesis 3:12
He totally rejected any ‘love’ for her and blamed her for his disobedience. Learn how to handle yourself in ALL your relationship, it could make the difference between life or death!
